Ruth Jeffers began working as an animal caretaker at Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge upon her graduation from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2023. “It’s the best job - you get to be outside surrounded by animals,” Jeffers shared. The refuge, located in Pittsboro, North Carolina, provides care and sanctuary to rescued farm animals.
